backnblack101: M E T R O N O M E  there is a metronome, whom i believe is female, constantly ticking and moving and keeping you in time. she will tell you to do it slow….slower and then she’ll ramp up tapping her heeled foot precisely on you, pinning you down to make you give her music to her rhythm and beat. she tells you when to tickle those keys, using all of your fingers in different ways. don’t worry if you make a mistake, stay quiet inside of it and she will lead you right back to the syncopation that had you both needing each other. Sure, there will always be sheet music that takes you through the structure of a song almost like blue prints, but if she had her way, your hands, and your need to feed her ears and give her the crescendo at just the right moment will have to rely solely on your instinct. you will use the the beat, the rhythm and the constant dancing and swaying back and forth that you see and hear in her stoic and unrelenting demands of you to do it….do it right….and follow her lead.
